How is Abdominoplasty Performed?

Abdominoplasty is typically performed under general anesthesia and takes between 2 to 4 hours, depending on the complexity of the case.

Steps of the Procedure:

1. Incision Placement
   A horizontal incision is made just above the pubic area. The length of the incision depends on the amount of excess skin to be removed.

2. Muscle Tightening
   The surgeon tightens and sutures the underlying abdominal muscles, restoring firmness and creating a slimmer waistline.

3. Excess Skin & Fat Removal
   Loose, sagging skin is removed, and liposuction may be used to contour the flanks and upper abdomen.

4. Repositioning the Navel
   In a full abdominoplasty, the belly button is repositioned to a natural-looking location.

5. Closing the Incisions
   The skin is re-draped, and the incisions are closed with fine sutures to minimize scarring.
